A Generic NW European Farm

 A Generic NW European Farm

This is a model of a "generic" farm complex suitable for North West Europe. It can be used for any of the 100 days farms where the area covered needs to be quite small, with the 15-18mm version being on 6 x A4 sheets of card. I have included a slightly larger version.
As usual, seal each sheet after printing and use extra pieces to build up walls and give depth to doors and windows.

This is more suitable for 20-25mm

The Decoster House

The Decoster House

This model is of the Decoster house, a largely forgotten feature of the Waterloo battlefield. The house was over the road and a little way along to La Belle Alliance, where, no doubt, Monsieur Decoster was one of the regulars.
As usual, this is a 15-18mm model. For best results, seal the sheets after printing and glue the walls at least on something like mounting board and fit the roof sections between the gables. Windows and doors are best cut out and the inset pieces used stuck to the inside of the mounting board to give depth to them. Brown sections on the roofs should be folded under as eaves and glued.

Hougoumont

 Hougoumont

Probably the most iconic buildings from the Battle of Waterloo is the Hougoumont Chateau. If you've had a look through earlier posts, you will have seen my earliest (reduced footprint) model of this famous farm, which was made many years ago. This model was designed to represent the complex in a sensible size for use on the games table whilst still being pretty much recognizable, but I wanted something that would be better as the centrepiece of a game based around it's defence rather than the whole battle.

As usual, I've used textures as close as I can get to those of the actual building and I've taken as much information as possible from photos. There are so many different plans for this complex, particularly the plan for the chateau itself. The plan I eventually decided on is one in which the tower is included within the rectangle of the house rather than as an extension. These illustrations show a few of the variations

The last of these are the plans I eventually settled on. The next set are photos used for choosing textures.

These are the nets for the farm complex. I've not done instructions as it's fairly evident where each part goes. These are scaled for use with 15-18mm figures or 1:100 for different scales, re-size using the template included.

Finally, a few photos of the first go at building this model. Minis are 18mm. This was just a quick "first fit" and wasn't meant to be perfect!
